Power vent water heaters do not require a chimney and can be vented through a wall.
A power vent water heater uses natural gas or propane as its fuel source and requires electricity to operate a built-in fan or blower that will remove combustion gases from your home. Its fuel source is solely used to heat the water within the tank and a nearby electrical outlet is required to power the fan. This type of water heating system can be vented horizontally through a wall and installed in a location without access to a vertical vent or chimney. The fan installed on top of the water heater cools the air so the vent can be run in PVC pipe.
Proper installation and regular maintenance will ensure your safety and can optimize the efficiency of your water heating system
