Ensure your chimney is safe and properly maintained.
A chimney liner is installed to contain combustible products, direct them outside of your home, and protect the chimney wall from heat and corrosion. Unlined chimneys facilitate rapid heat transfer to nearby combustibles and can result in a fire. In addition, because flue gases are acidic in nature and may damage or corrode the mortar joints inside the chimney, a chimney liner will protect the masonry (brick and mortar) from corrosive byproducts and prevent dangerous gases from leaking into your home.
A correctly sized chimney liner will prevent excessive creosote buildup in wood-burning stoves and fireplaces.

Consider the dangers of old unlined or damaged chimneys and keep your home safe. Have your chimney liner checked for any signs of deterioration and have your chimney cleaned, maintained, and repaired as needed to prevent soot or fuel buildup. Even if you do not use your chimney often, have it inspected at least once a year because bird and animal nests, as well as other debris may block the chimney.
